I think it’s because Mila is the protagonist and is such a spiky character it’s hard to warm to her. I didn’t feel comfortable with them and I can’t quite figure out why. As a result the characters stand and fall on their own. Since 1999 he has been working as a TV screenwriter. I can’t say much more than that without spoilers. Donato Carrisi was born in 1973 and studied law and criminology. It’s perhaps not the most realistic plot, simply because of its scope, but it takes its inspiration from real life cases and then pushes further. I started by liking the premise, after all what’s not to like about six buried arms?, and got caught up in all the twists, turns and ramifications. I found the plot engrossing as I never knew what was coming next. In this stunning thriller, Donato Carrisi has created a masterful balance of good and evil, deftly shaded by the flawed humanity of those who seek to impose.

The plot is complex and a bit convoluted, but it has some nice touches, literary flourishes perhaps (I’m not in a position to identify them) and a certain sense of inevitability. A team led by Captain Roche and internationally renowned criminologist Goran Gavila are on the trail of a serial killer. I enjoyed The Whisperer, which is, I suppose, a police procedural with plenty of twists and turns.
